Hayley,
Hannah, Hayden: Accomplishing Great
Things.
Hayley
attended the Honors Breakfast for the third year as she wrapped up her Middle
School career. At the talent show, she
performed the song Bubbly, by Colbie Caillet, with her friend Zac playing the
guitar. Hayley was accepted into
advanced courses at the High School.
Hannah
struggled in 5th grade.
Moving to a new classroom mid-year, losing grandma, and being bullied by
a student meant emotions were on high, instruction time was lost and homework life
was unbearable. She dreaded school. Concerned, we had her tested by Sylvan
Learning Center. Their suggestion: a $5600 plan to drive to Salem twice a week
for instruction. We shared the plan with
a team of teachers at her school and formed a different plan which I was
skeptical of. In just a few short weeks,
she persevered, scoring higher in Math then most of her peers. Once again, her Science project won her a
chance to go to Expo for the second year in a row. These efforts earned her a rare Citizenship
award for most improved. She
accomplished great things.
Hayden loves
school and loves her friends.
Unfortunately she got sick the last week of school and was unable to
attend. She still graduated 2nd
grade right on track, speaking and engaging in the Spanish culture. She is an excellent student.
We celebrated these accomplishments with a
graduation party in June. The girls each
planted a fern to commemorate their achievements symbolizing the need to dig
deep roots, get nourishment from those around them, and keep growing. The girls displayed their most prized
projects and awards and each prepared a speech.
Notable commitments: Hayden will
work towards speaking Spanish in public.
Hannah will stand strong in Middle School, and Hayley hopes her friends
will love her for who she really is, not just a pretty face and an amazing
voice.
